Since 2005, the Meritus name has stood for uncompromising quality in all aspects of residential construction. Now, almost twenty years since opening our doors in Anderson, South Carolina, Meritus Commercial is born.
At the heart of this new company are two forward thinking men – Jeff Viney and Tommy Johnstone.
Coming into the business with an extensive background in construction materials, Jeff has established Meritus Signature Homes as one of the state’s most successful and respected custom home builders. Initially concentrated in the premier mountain and lake communities of the Upstate, Meritus expanded to the South Carolina coastal region, with a second office opened in Beaufort in 2018.

It’s that simple philosophy brought Jeff and Tommy together in early 2023. The two shared a love for the process of construction. Just as important was getting to know each customer and doing everything to possible to deliver lasting value.
For Meritus Commercial, the processes are more intricate.
